I have eight years' in-house and freelance experience and a Master's degree in Translation and Linguistics. I have worked extensively with legal translation as well as translations for institutions and organisations, particularly in the international development field. I also do commercial translations, such as reports and marketing materials (such as brochures, website copy, etc.) for a diverse range of companies.

My general translation process involves:
I only use reputable reference materials, termbases and online resources (such as the European Union's Iate or the Canadian Government's Termium) when translating.
I am an experienced legal translator and editor, having worked for many years in-house at top legal translation company Geotext Translations (now part of Lionbridge). As such, I have a good knowledge of the legal industry and the two legal systems and laws of France and England and Wales. I can provide translations from French into English of all kinds of certificates, deeds, contracts and legal instruments, as well as court documents. I work hard to produce a translation that is highly accurate and faithful to the source text with consistent terminology, using only high-quality reference materials.
I regularly translate and edit documents for institutions and organisations, including national and supranational government agencies, charities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), such as the International Rescue Committee and Integrity Global. I have provided translations of research reports, aid programme evaluations, political economy analyses, aid applications as well as press releases and articles. I am used to working with the institutional style guides of these organisations to ensure consistent style, terminology and voice.
I have worked as a translator for a wide range of international companies and organisations, including pharmaceutical companies, architecture/construction companies, universities. I work with a wide range of documents: promotional materials, brochures, annual reports, marketing and internal emails, staff newsletters, slides, corporate social responsibility reports, websites and many more. I strive to produce a fluent and natural sounding translation that sounds like it was originally written in the target language, while maintaining equivalence with the source text.
